The forums are great, but may I say that the colour scheme is tough on older eyes like mine? Black and blue text on various shades of blue and grey is really difficult to read, for me at least. Or is there a way to reconfigure what I see?

    IE colours

You could try forcing IE to display the colour scheme you want.

In IE, go into 'Tools', then 'Internet Options...'. In the General tab, click on colours, and untick the 'Use Windows Colours' box, then chose the colours you want to use. Then back in the General Tab, click on the 'Accessibiltiy...' button and tick the 'Ignore colours specified on web pages,' box, and/or even create your own style sheet to use.

    Hope that helps.

Bit-tech colours are actually quite good compared to a lot of forums I've seen. Most of the forums I see are either too light and pastel-y or too bold thus becoming an eyesore.

I suppose a change could make the forums feel a little fresher, but there isn't a great need to change what already works.

Agreed. I have the feeling we might get into trouble, but until then... :D

Thanks for your patience (at least no one said "first post and all he does is complain...") and the various suggestions. I detest IE and use Opera instead. I found it has a similar customisation feature, so now I get to read your pearls of wisdom in good old black text on a white background. Hmmm..... something else to tweak....

Bah, first post and all he does is complain. :grr:

    j/k ;)

You must have weird eyes though because most people round here find this colour scheme one of the best. I do anyway. I think there is an option in the control panel to change the colour scheme and although different colour schemes may have to be added by an administrator you could always beg. :p

I like the colour scheme here at bit-tech. The blue is very nice. Only other forum I've seen that has equally good colors is 2cpu. totally easy to read. Yeah, the white gets old, but what doesn't. to the forum designers: nice color choice :thumb:

I agree. Of all the forums I've seen, Bit-Tech's is the most easy to look at. nice shades of blue/grey. (The lack of piccies in the sigs really makes this a pro looking site.

I don't have any problems reading the back text on the dark background, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't cater for people who do.

Perhaps there could be a 'high contrast' setting in our profile, so people could turn it on if they need it?
