Hi, it's been a long time since i messed with partitions, back in the old days, when we used partitionmagic on diskettes and dinosaurs roamed the earth. Anyway, back then, changing a partition meant ruining formatting it. Now to the issue at hand: My tablet (well, convertible) comes with a generous 32GB SSD, and the smart people at medion put the recovery partition on there as well. This eats away 10GB and doesn't leave a lot. Now that I know I can simply make a recovery USB-Stick, I'd like to remove this partition and ADD it to the existing C: drive. Is this possible, and if so: how? Best regards, Xir
If you right click the start button and click disk management you can (among other things) remove and expand partitions. As I recall (haven't done it for a while): If you remove the recovery partition so it shows as unallocated space you can then expand the main partition into that space without affecting the data on it. That said, be sure you know for certain what you are removing and I'd definitely back up anything important on the partition you are expanding.
AFAIK when you create a recovery USB stick using Windows own tool (Create a recovery drive) it gives you the option once it's done to delete the original recovery partition.
Hmmm, well there's not much on the system exept the original windows and two personal accounts, so I wouldn't lose much if I failed Will try, thx.
