Hi guys Thought would share how i customised my front shuttle fascia when i was boored last weekend. Shuttle is a SN45G but am sure it can be dont with shuttles with clear removable fronts. Item list: -decent color printer -photo paper. ( not sure if quality would be similar with normal paper) -design that u want to use -sharp blade/scalpel -cutting mat -allen/hex key wanted to change the front fascia to match my wallpaper which is: http://de.shuttle.com/en/resourceimage.aspx?raid=4809 so resized the image to approximately the same size as the shuttle front. 17cm x 18cm take out the clear shuttle front panel via the 4 allen/hex screws on the sides, the grey backing is just a grey sheet which is easily removed. place the cover over the printed image and slowly and carefully cut all the holes with the scalpel. use the drive and floppy bezel as a template if u have stealth drives. taadaa...finished item. apologies for lack of pics in the first stages and poor image quality pics were taken with a 1mp camera phone. i think shuttle do a cosmetix kit, but hope u like it cheers
Nice. What's the acrylic thing on your SN45G? I have one myself but I'm not sure if I can bring myself to mod it..
cheers guys looking into other images now cause the gf doesnt like it. have seen a few others with different fronts but not sure if they did it like this or with a cosmetix kit. really wanted to do it with what i had at that time good thing is.. it should also work with other shuttle models with removable arcylic fronts u mean the clearview case? or the fill port. was going 2 WC the shuttle but think may have to sell the kit now the grey backing just comes off the perspex front..its not stuck on or anything so u could always put it back just make sure u carefully cut round the paper if using it as a template. or just trace around it and cut cheers
The clearview case. It looks rather interesting ^_^. I thought about WCing my shuttle, but I highly doubt I could get all the stuff in there. I need to mod it soon though; I can't run it with the sides on or it overheats :s. Yeah, I already did this sort of thing awhile ago, used some silver-reflective paper/card I found.
Did the facia of my SN45G a while ago now. I removed the silver bar on the plexi using toothpaste and a LOT of scrubbing..... Oh, I used to have it watercooled as well, using the Aquarius 2 kit, but had the pump/reservoir outside the machine. Got rid in the end and went for a S4 fan with the normal heatpipe instead.
It's the Shuttle 16 speed DVD burner. I did have a normal beige 4 speed DVD-R in there with a coolermaster facia on. The coolermaster facias look just as good IMO.
