    No wai...I know that guy!

Award winning my arse, BotB's a horrible film :hehe:

Interesting find though, clearly if it is a phone there must be at least one other person with the [lady] in question. Or I guess if in the future we can send a person back and forth in time we could do the same with a cell signal

I know a guy that was in Battle of the bone....it was err....well, yeah. Time travel to the past has more or less been proven impossible, using gravity it is possible to travel forwards in time within the laws of physics just not with our current technology :S

Doesn't this guy know how to google?

Probably an early carbon microphone hearing aid.

Also...at the end, a belfast guy saying "Buy my films, Support the cause..."? :eyebrow:

If that sonotone was available in 1928 you have just cracked it.

edit: looks like it was released in the 40's

I daresay this would have fitted into a similar shaped device.

It's probably a prototype af a farnsworth, which was released in 1929. (Before it got video capabilities.)

LOL. I'd rep you for this if I could :hehe: I've never seen it, but think I heard you mention it a couple of times. Did he study with you? He looks about our age.

He was a couple of years ahead of us in tech, came in once and asked us all to help out on the movie. I signed up but never got round to going any further with it, kinda glad tbh. We had it in work, to be fair it outsold Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D for the week :hehe:

John was a thug and zombie for him, even had a line

You should watch the Knackery sometime though, parts of it are very studenty feeling but for the most part it entertains :thumb:

So are you telling me that....

    Could it be true that...

that people knew how to keep their hands on their ears already before the first cell phone?

OH MY ****ING GOD. STOP THE PRESS!

So a woman scratching her ear means there are time travellers? Brilliant.

Whoever it was who said he knew this guy, please tell him he's a fool :) I can't believe he's screened this to over 100 people, and no one has said, "She's scratching her ear".

And another thing... you can take as many mobile phones back in time as you want.. but you won't be using it, unless you also take back an entire cellular network with you. Seriously.. I hope this guy is joking, otherwise he's a complete 'tard.

    Fail.

if you watch in full screen, you can just make out a small black box the woman/man is holding to their ear. Now I would like to think its a hearing device as mentioned, and i would also like to ask why a time traveller would be walking in a set of film, with vast abilities to change more important things.

Note travelling back in time to prevent somebody like Hitler and his Third Reich, might be considered a good thing, but would also destroy medical advancements and technology of the era, and potentially one change in history could upset the balance of power in Europe, and Russia could have walked all over it anyway. And the wonders of BMW and Mercedes may never exist in this day and age, not to mention the lack of the peoples car, the beetle.

Space race, nazi germany. Dam those nazi geniuses!

Maybe the time traveller went back in time to stop another time traveller from changing history...

Not only that, you would also need to bring some satellites for the GSM system to work. (The GPS network is used for timesynch)

True. Wars are the best catalyst for developing new technology. Sad, but true.

Whilst we're on the subject of Nazi technology I may as well add that modern computers and communications came to the forefront of 20th century technological development along with many other things that we take for granted today like the jet engine, rockets, planes, ships and small arms as a result of WWII. The beauty of modern technology is that all you have to do is read one Wikipedia article to learn about all this ;)

I took a great deal of interest in WWII whilst I was in school. It was taught as part of our history curriculum in Secondary School and because members of my family were involved in the war, I took it upon myself to do even more research and learn beyond what was on the syllabus :) The last time we were in Jersey, I spent 4 hours in the war tunnels one day :p

You all seem to be perfectly happy to assume that despite the human race having invented TIME TRAVEL (supposedly) we'll all still be using 21st century phones :duh:

I don't think anyone in here is happy to assume time travel has been invented. I don't think there's a single post responding to the OP that isn't pointing out the flaws in this argument.

    lol

    time travel.

    Guy's off his rocker.

Doesn't matter what that woman is doing to her ear. At all. The entire concept is more insane than the idea of one of us sprouting wings, out of our arse, and flying to the sun.

Sorry did that last Thursday, right after I solved world hunger and created cold fusion with nothing more than a mentos, cup of water and some trusty palladium that Tony Stark lent me. Note all before breakfast I tell YE!

Good god, must have been a busy morning!

Were you struck with an epiphany while using the Janitors Epiphany toilet, by any chance?
