In a quiet moment, thinking "I need a new hard disk", I decided to see what prices have been doing in my absence. Komplett have made a mistake, and are offering 80GB Barracuda IVs for only 69GBP inc vat. MMMmmmm. I'd get one, but for the fact they'll be that cheap in 6 weeks time anyway....In the meantime, it seems a great deal to me.
Its only cause seagate are preparing to release the barra 5s with 8meg cache and also SATA models too and theyll be 80gig+ like the western digitals. damn good harddisks though.
i think komplett are quite good for an overseas company all my orders have come next day from them and the prices are usually v good. As for the HDD's get one i have two 60Gb barracudas and they are nice a fast and quite
I've got an 80Gb seagate Barra on order and like Rich said komplett can't refuse to replace an item. [Harry Enfield guy voice] "And if komplett refuse to replace my faulty harddrive, while I'm sat at home with a dead peice of crap without my dodgy swedish porn I obtained from the internet... Not actually Wip3out .....I'll say "OI KOMPLETT NOO! YOU WILL REPLACE MY HARD DRIVE IN FULL WORKING ORDER, WITH A NEW GUARENTEE, AND A FULL REFUND!!! *huff* *puff* *huff* Oh and I'll also be ringing the police directly and let them sort it out.
I think it is a mistake because the 80GB is cheaper than the 60GB, but they can't legally refuse to supply it once the order has gone through. Like I say, I would order it but by the time I come back, who knows what will be out. I suspect seagate won't actually release another UATA drive. They've been pushing strongly for S-ATA, and may just move entirely into that, keeping the barracuda IV on as their last 7200 UATA drive. I could be wrong though...
