Electronics cheap LCD touch screen?

    Hey not posted in a while since my media box pc well time for a new project :)

    just got myself a new car a Renault Laguna 1.8 RT to be exact.

    going to start building a car PC at the moment but need to find a cheapish LCD tochscreen quality doesn't have to be amazing it will just be for menus/sat nav.

    The Lilliput 7" TFT LCD touch screen seems great but is £200 there must be something cheaper out there or.. if paying that price are there any DIN units (the ones where the LCD folds away into the space your stereo was) that have a touch screen? I can only see non touch screen models :/

    Unfortunately 'cheap' and 'touch' generally aren't seen in each other's vicinity. If you don't mind shopping the other side of the pond, though, you might want to check out EarthLCD; they have decent prices.

    I saw that the Lilliput 7" displays are 179 pounds, which is pretty competitive to prices here in the U.S., but that VAT sure is a killer. Still, I couldn't imagine finding it cheaper in the UK unless you guys went on a group buy or something. I wouldn't suggest going any cheaper than Lilliput, if you're going to go with a touch screen display.

    Have a look on e-Bay. Possibly score a separate touchscreen kit and mount that on a display.

    Hmm
    I have the exact same project on my to-do list when I get a car

    Touch screen LCD and all

    I also want one of those LED displays in my rear window... great for getting rid of tailgaters, or saying thanks to those nice few people who let you merge
