that looks like a pretty good deal, 15$ for a tube and a dual inverter... I was thinking, since i still have my inverter from the one i busted, i would buy a 15$ kit and 2 tubes, 1 for the 2nd plug on the dual inverter, 1 for the inverter i already have.. but, does anyone have any suggestions on how to mount the 2 plain tubes? the kit comes with little peel and stick mounting feet that i assume is like the cathode in the most recent review.

the cathodes from walmart are very dim apprently. Changing the invertor would have no effect on their brightness.

Except that they are 10 inch neon tubes, yes, but with all the plastic sh!t it comes with, they are 17 inches long. I bought one because it was cheap and ended up having to do a lot of modding to get it to fit.

the auto-parts store by my house has 9 inchers for 14 and they are pretty damn bright

Yeah, the WalMart ones are ok, but not that great. I got one and also had to mod it to fit into my case. :( They have a decent brightness, but you cant really tell the difference between night and day shots.

I have a walmart one too....decent bightness but it barely fits in my Antec 1030. It is also pretty big around.....like the size of a broom handle so if you have anuthing other than a full tower forget it. It needs no inverter though, it must be built into the tube part....just slapped a molex on there and was good to go. I was in there and said for $10 how could I go wrong :hehe: And SVC is the cheapest I have seen CC's at.

heres what i did with my walmart neons.

cut them outta the casing with a dremel.

you get a CC sized stick with an inverter, about 10" i think

save the rubber spacers, they come in handy.

Just got my new bloo cold cathodes through this week. I brought them for a bargain price of 3.96 each from here

    Cheap cathodes

Installed it today and these things are really bright. You can buy the inverters there as well for a whopping 3.34!!

They are UK and ship really quick.

    Hods:D

    Thanks:D

They are sent in a protective tube, but other than that no. The inverter you can get with them is tiny and v.v. easy to use. I shielded mine inside a small plastic box (ironically from a dremel case!)

I havn't had much experience with CC's but to me these seem really bright and light up my case superbly, through the window and front bezel. They are very thin so be careful with em.

Had to be worth a try for under 4quid!
