Modding Cheap Plexi?

    Where can I get cheap plexi in the UK for a custom window? I'd like it pretty thin so as I can glue it without the need for moulding. I read this article which says I can get plexi from Homebase but I couldn't find it anywhere on their useless site. :grr:

    Otherwise if anyone's got any spare lying around I only need something 30x40cm or so :D.

    well ,i've got some spare... about 100x50cm. It's clear and 3mm thick, but it's a wee bit scratched, but that'll be easily fixed.

    Would you be willing to part with it? I'm not sure how you fit something like that through the letter box.

    30x40 ? I can get plexi cheap... this should be like 10 USD ... ... ... and another 10 for shipping, I am afraid :)

    Your best bet would be a local hardware store found on most high streets.

    For 2' x 2' piece you shoud pay about £5.

    Hmm possibly. Might be hard where I live (only two hardware stores in the whole area and they are tiny). Is the full name plexiglas? If they don't have that should I ask for acrylic or what else is there?

    Only one small hardware store where I live, they called it interior perspex (2mm thick)

    I think I'll just ask for plastic sheets and see what they come up with. Thanks for the offers by the way guys I realy appreciate it but I rather see what I can find than nicking off other people :).

    Go to a sign shop, that's where I got the plexi for my case badge light, I asked for one 1x1" piece and they gave me about 100, free too :D

    So if you ask nicely you might get some offcuts for free.

    got some from b&q today...

    4mm 4foot by 2 foot... cost£20

    so its there... but i'm sure that it can be found cheaper... i just wanted some NOW....
