Anyone know a good supplier of cheap good quality Blue LEDS. Looking at getting around 200 to 400 for a future project. Anyone got any ideas where to look?

    Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't use the LED's off Chi-Wing for anything important. The greens and blues have a high tendancy to fail, usually with an almost 0 ohm resistance.

They're cheap for a reason. If you can put up with the poor manufacturing (I had half a pack of 100 with the flat edge on the anode (longest lead) :eyebrow:, the rest were normal), then go for it.

They're still a good bargain though. Especially if you need lots and lots of LED's.

The red, orange, amber, white and UV LED's are great - never had a problem with any of those colours. It depends on your application.

Chi-wing have always delivered within a week of paying without fault.

wow, while ggogling trying to find some prices on leds, i found a site which contains a crapload of info on leds.
    http://members.misty.com/don/ledx.html
it contains a page which lists some suppliers, but i don't think it's been updated in awhile...

The red Ultrabright LEDs from Rapid are the best quality I've used, and at a reasonable cost if you buy in volume.

Shame the pure green LEDs on there are 70p each.

The 70-99p blue LEDs are very nice from there too, especially part numbers 55-1485, 55-1482 and 55-1480. They're quite a distinctive blue colour.

Must have missed something cause I can't see why you are saying that besthongkong produce "cheaper/poorer quality LED,s". Only used a few from them and they seemed ok to me.
