I've heard you can get LCD compatible VFD's. I know Farnell do them, but can you get them cheaper elsewhere? I'd be after a 2x20, to fit the cutout I've already got in my drive bay

Depending on how much they are, I may abandon the idea of blue backlighting my LCD with EL Sheet. I'm thinking it would look better in the Lian.

Fair enough. I'll just have to get one from Farnell. Do they do the filters as well, Cheese?

tbh is you're not using a filter because you want to view the display is sunlight then you can use any old coloured plastic - though they do do some filters, yes. Give em a ring and ask for a catalogue.

    Cheers,

Yeah it's not small, but it's free and very easy to browse - lcd's are convenietly next to their huuuge array of leds :D

If I got a VFD from farnell, could I stick the backpack on it that came with the milford?

Sounds a stupid idea I know (in light of Cheese's opinion of it), but Mat-d-Rat has just got LCDC working with it - Top software that I'd be loath to get rid off.

    Would be a straight swap?

Unfortunatly, the patient died on the operating table...

So now I'm waiting for a replacement from Farnell. :(

Once it arrives, I'm going to cut my losses and wire as parallel (Which means I can't use LCDC! Noooooowwww!!!) and send the carfully embalmed remains to CheeseMan to work his dark satanic arts on them in the hopes of bringing them back.

    Watch this space...
