Build Advice Cheaper Build

    I looked at the feb hardware article but it seemed quite exspensive for me so i toned it down a bit and got this. If you could help me out with what is wrong and stuff please do.

    Case: NZXT Alpha Black Mid Tower Case
    Proccesor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 Stepping
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R iP45
    Memory: Corsair Memory 4GBKIT (2X2GB) 800MHZ
    Power Supply: Corsair VX550W
    Graphics Card: Sapphire HD 4850 512MB GDDR3
    CPU Cooler: Akasa LGA775 120mm
    Hard Drive: Seagate ST3500320AS 500GB Hard Drive SATA II
    Optical Drive: Sony DRU-190A 20X DVD±RW
    OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium

    Which Akasa heatsink is that?

    The 966 is pretty good, i've got one. Only downside is a poor mount as its fiddly and the plastic back mount is a little too flexiable in my view.

    Do you plan on overclocking? If so invest now in decent cooling, rather than regret and upgrade which just burns a hole in your pocket.

    Well if you insist... :D

    What screen are you going to use with it, and what do you use the PC for?

    For a pure gaming machine with a 22"screen or bigger i'd downgrade the CPU to an e8400 and upgrade the GPU to a 4870 1GB or a GTX260.

    Yeah was looking at something around the 22" size but i need to level out cost to quality. It won't be a complete gaming beast but i will still use it for a bit of it.
