An earlier post on what currents leds need to light got me wondering, and after messing with some high-value resistors I built this tester, no PICs or expensive chips.

    Parts list:
    1. Used 9v battery, ex smoke detector.

    Instructions:
    1. Lick finger & thumb, grip led anode.
    2. Hold cathode wire (flat side of led) to battery negative.
    3. Lick finger on other hand, touch battery positive.

*finds a yellow led... turns on the powersuply... turns the voltage wheel slowlt to 30volts in frankelstein style...follows cpemma's notes...*

nice! i can feel it in my finger now.. :D :hip:

*gets idea of ghetto touch sensor...* "lick on your hand on put it on this plate"'

    edit: i just hit the 500 post mark! ( :duh: )

A 3v lithium battery works good also. Cheap, especially if you kill a lot of motherboards. :p

Just put the battery between the leads of the leds.
