    hey guys,

was wondering if you could give me comments on the website

    fcuked-up.co.uk

the site is run with a backend called e-xoops at the moment. i'm going to be writing a backend myself hopefully throughout the summer to make it confirm to the webstandards (it currently doesn't)

What im asking for is ideas on layout, colours schemes, functions such as theme changer? just anything you think would help make the site stand out from others and be pretty good.

    thanks kiltman :thumb:

thanks, i did want that, to start with i was gonna have little dash's under the links, but with the way the style sheets have been done it looked ****ty as it came up over the whole site, when i get the backend coded by myself instead of an available cms system i'll get it all sorted properly, my main goal is to get a interface design and a colour scheme, i like the blue schemes , think there mellow and relaxing

It takes forever to load and I don't like that right click menu but the colours and interface are quite good.

Nah, the menu is neat better than the normal "NO RIGHT CLICK" popup most sites seem to do. But it takes ages even on 512k...

That right-click menu doesn't work in opera 7, but I don't like them anyway. I don't see the point in changing a pefectly good menu that people are used to.

The colour scheme looks good, but the links definately need something. I'd make the top-menu links a little larger too.

i wonder why its taking ages to load mmmm, anyon got any ideas what could be making it do that? the right click menu can be completly customized, i'm still making new graphics for it at the moment, going to make the text black to start with and when you hover over it turns to white like the main menu, thanks for the comments so far

First it displays the top title image and the top menu bar and everything below that is just nothing but the back ground colour. Then about 15 seconds later the content below the top menu suddenly all appears. During those 15 seconds nothing downloads at all (according to my download meter) and if it's loading from the cache I don't know why it would take so long. This is on IE6 winXP btw.

Mine's the same as what DeX described... does that e-xoops backend-thingey do any server side processing of the site?

i like this site, and yanno..the right-click menu can be of use, if you ask me... think..put the login link for admins in the right click menu, and other special things that you wouldn't want normally shown on the page...it could be pretty cool.

    Good stuff:
    - General colour scheme
    - Black text on white, it can't be faulted tbh
    - Clean 1px borders on all the tables

    Bad stuff:
    - Right-click menu, I think they look a bit cheesy and warez-site-ish
    - The background shade of blue I think is a tad too bright, maybe make it a little greyer to take the edge off it
    - The top tables (news ones) don't line up, they look a bit scattered
