hey, i have recently bought a Cheiftech Scorpio... with my CD ROMs in the drive bays, there not level with the bay covers, there like sunken in, and its really ugly. does anyone else have this problem ? does anyone know how to fix this problem ? thanks, .icecube
You need to adjust the way the drive rails are attached, as in what holes are used and where they are (the one set of holes for the screws are longer slightly to allow precisely this sort of adjustment).........its hard to explain but thats what needs to be adjusted.
Open your case and look at the screws that hold the CD drives in. Lossen them, slide the drives to the required position and retighten the screws. Any clearer?
you dont understand, the holes in the cage that the screws go in are tiny, only big enough for the screw to go in, so i cant slide it along. .icecube
If you can't slide it far enough, there should be other holes to put the screws in! Just try swopping them if you can.
damn, you dont understand... the cage has 3 big holes, dont know what there for, cooling ? and theres only one place for screws and its like [ ] that big. thats the only place to put a screw and you cant slide anything around >_< .icecube
Dude, look in the bottom of your case, and you should see a rack of white slidy things held in the bottom of the case by some clips(like those in the pic I posted). Slide them out of their clips. These are the drive rails, that screw to the side of the drive, and are then used as guides for sliding the drives in from the front of the PC. Then slide the drive in to the cage fron the front. If the drives are not alligned properly (as in the are sunk in or stick out), you need to adjust the drive rails by sliding them along to the screws are in a different position, until the drives will slide in all the way and the rails will 'lock' into place, holding the drives level and secure. You dont need to screw the drive to the cage itself, instead you screw the rails (in the midi stored in the bottom of the case, u cant miss em) to the drives then slide em in. To allign them, adjust the rails on the drives by sliding them up and down the screws..........
yea, but i couldnt think. i asked Adam and he didnt know, so i just left it at that. How cool are they though... lol. .icecube
i took all the spare ones out of the bottom of my dragon as they got in the way but they are a good feature.
