    thanks for the tip
but it dosent really apply since theres no paint on the panel yet

anyways... i'm getting the hang of the dremel now... the only problem is that for me to "get the hang" of the dremel... i seem to have wasted almost 17 cutting disks and shattered another 5 or so.
    :grr:
the disks are starting to last a bit longer now though.

window looks good so far as well :hip:
it's going to take some work though to cover upt he holes on the panel. :blah:

after a couple of coats of white paint.
no where near a mirror finish but it does have a shine to it.
    and nowhere near finished yet.
it dosent really show it on the picture but on the right hand side of the door.... is a bit ****ed.
i put a little to much paint on one of the coats and it started to bubble, the smart thing to do would have been to wait till it was dry and sand it out.... but being the dumb ass i am i took a cloth to it and left big streaks down the paint like scratches :grr:

    great looking case so far!

glad you went with white too...be different!!

Man the dremel/bondo work you did looks awsome!!

Hey about your cutting with the dremel...have you done a search or check out how or what type of disks everyone else uses for making window mods?! I know i have seen the actuall part number for certain disk that people use for such detailed cuts as yours is. It might help you in the long run, especial in the 'pocket book' area.

Anyways cant wait to see more of this project!

thanks for that, i'll have a search
Atm i've been using the disks with the number "420"
they arent re-enforced.... but they where fairly cheap and they came in packs of 20, so i'm not to fussed.

wow this case is looking AWESOME....

great bondo work and great lookin window!!

i think i will subscribe :thumb:

for dremel cutting discs.... usually by getting the most expensive ones you dont lose any money... as they last as long as 20 of the smaller ones...

im not exactly sure what numbers are on the ones we get but we get the really thick and wide reinforced ones.... though u wanna wait til they are small to do detailed cuts.... so you do your straight lines first :)

Reinforced wheels are the way to go.... trust me. Just let the wheel do the work, do not force it... but it looks like you dont need any advice from me on this! ;)

    Nice looking case!
    Keep it up!

Nice dremel work... I know what you are talking about on the Dremel disks breaking... You are using the cheap redish bonded emery style... they don't hold up for large cutting projects... You want to go with the ones that look like brown cutoff disk blades. they are reinforced with a fiberglass grid and have a much beter cutting action.... Like was stated earlier... save thelittle red ones for light work and touchup...

ok, finally i started doing some more work
the only reason i left it so long is because i dont have enough money / time to buy paint and plexi :(... but i got the paint today :D

anybody want to report this thread to the guiness world records for longest time not being updated feel free.

anyways... a pic of the case dismantled and being painted.

and a close up of my dodgy paint job.

after the painting ... all i have to do is touch up the window (dremel sanding discs), cover up the holes in the window (putty or araldyte for some strength)

and then put her all back together :D

edit: oh.... and buy some plexi and find some random / dodgy way to affix it to the window :grr:

/me starts jumping for joy :waah:
