Im looking for a new case, and im just wondering what you think of the Chieftec Dragon, i know how popular they are... :hehe:

I've got a micro atx mobo and a generic 350w PSU, i wont have any problems fitting these, will i?

    Thanks in advance...

They are nice looking cases and all, but the problem with them is just about everyone has one - in other words they're really common. When I first saw one I loved it, but now I think it's just 'ok'.

    Just my 2p ;)

Edit: and no, you shouldn't have a problem fitting the mobo and psu.

Yeah, i know they're common, but in the end, i'm the one that sits next to it for hours!

Any suggestions for a rarer case in the same price bracket then (£30-£50)? :worried:

Looks like im gonna get a black one, and im gonna order some rounded ide cables with it. What length IDE cable will i need for a Dragon with two optical drives and a micro atx board?

    Thanks in advance... :hip:

Well it depends i bought some 18" one for my chenming and they work fine i have two optical drives at the very top and they reach. Then again I only have the mid tower one not a full tower, if you go with a full tower get the longer cables.

18" cables are plenty long for my setup for my raid controller to reach the bottom 5.25" slot....

so anything longer than that is likely overkill

and on a side note, since a mATX board mounts the ports in the same spot as an ATX board, the only variation in the position of your IDE sockets is by manufacturer's choice (some like to mount them on the edge of the board closest the drives about midway down, others like to put them on the bottom, some like the top)

in any case, for a mATX board, 18" should be plenty long to go from event eh bottom of your board to the top 5.25" slot in the case

and its slightly larger than a mid-tower (anywhere from 1-3" depending on how tall your mid-tower is...)

Thanks for the help guys, looks like i'll be getting 18" cables...

Am having a bit of trouble with colour, i want to light it red and its a toss up between black or silver. Beige would also be an option, as it would match my keyboard, mouse and screen, but i cant decide! :worried:

You have the same case as me, exactly cept the one i have came with a pre cut window, which was nice till i decided i wanted to mod my case, now im going to have to either but a new panel or figure out neat way to solve my problem

*EDIT* oh and if you have the money go for an aluminum one, it makes alot of difference in the cooling and weight of the computer as a whole.
