Hello guys.. I have made a special deal with Vantec, they will sponsore products for a case project, but I will still have to test the stuff within 3 weeks, like normal reviews at my homepage.. well, I made a list for them wit all the stuff that I needed .. At the moment the Package is on the way from Taiwan to Denmark Well, The victim in this case is a Chieftec Dragon Hightower "black" you might think, its a plain case I am starting on.. but no.. I have already made allot of stuff too it, and now more will come I am the owner of a "look alike dremel" but .. I hate it.. So it has never been used and will never be eheh.. what i have made is done with "normal" tools.. I have some old pictures of the case in action.. at the moment my system is running in a Coolermaster stacker, so it is only my A64 test system that is mounted in the Chieftec.. Here are some older pictures of how it looked like, most of the things are still the same though.. There is also pictures of how i have made the different stuff.. For the pictures!! I was thinking of painting the radi grill black, but i just though that it went with my hair as it was.. Naah... The buttons on the fanbus is liek the radi grill so I am thinking of keeping it clean like they are.. At the moment I am painting some stuff.. the Vantec gear hasn´t come yet so the next update will probaly be about the painting.. hehe,, What I am thinking of in the end is to make the Vantec logo and maybe name on the rigth side of the case where there isno windows.. I am going top cut it out in Alu plates and might paint it black.. A new power supply will get mounted and modded.. also will there be green sleeving and green molex connectors.. green light, green lights in the fanbus, 5x80 mm green uv fans and stuff like that.. = GREEEEEN well I will report back when something new is happening! i like picca's to b big then you can really see the details btw nice case (H) i also have a chieftec fulltower but i hate those hd cages

Oh! Oh! Question! Did you glue that window on to the side? What did you use? I have always seen windows held on with screws or something similar and I guess I always just assumed that glue wouldn't be strong enough. Also, did that power supply mount come straight or did you have to fix that too?
The window is cut and afterwards i glued a bigger piece of plexiglass on the inside of the side with silicone.. you can see it in the guide I am linking to in post 1 The power suplly mount fitted like normal? if you mean the thing build in the chieftec under the supply to hold it, i have removed it because power supplys with a 92 mm fangrill that faces downwards will not fit with it.. so it is just mounted with 4 screws straight out, it´s "haning" in the air hehe.. kind regards Thizen
Hey guys.. Some new pictures.. Just got done paiting before it started raining As you can see I have painted allot of things.. here is some pics.. Fanbus before.. Fanbus after WOW I am thinking of getting some stickers made, with fx. the DVD logo for the drive and maybe some number indications for the fanbus.. I don´t know yet.. About the fan holders.. The big plastic side that you grab when to unmount the fanholder is kinda ugly... And i got in mind that when i get some nice fans into the holders, the plastic tap will cover it so you can´t see the fan.. So i am thinking of cutting it away.. It shouldn´t make a difference in its way of working? Kind regards Thizen
Thx for the comments.. At the moment I am making some letters in aluminium.. should end up with Vantec´s name.. I had some problems with the V and A so I am not all finished... What do you think about them? I am going to make the edges nice and might paint it and stuff.. I am so very sad today, I expected UPS to come with my package but I found out that they were just checking it out today.. It will arrive tommorow Got the idea of making some kind og net and bend it so that it will cover some parts of the chassie, and look a little industrial.. maybe some metalplates could be nice on the empty aeras too.. Yet another update for ya! Finally done with the letters.. They aren´t all done yet, going to make them real fine and maybe shiney if I can What do you think of them until now? Kind regards Thizen
Letters are looking pretty good, might want to do a little filing in places to straighten out some of the lines. But nice alu letters
The letters are looking good, one idea would be to mount them on the side of the case and lit them up from behind with LEDs or something, that would look quite cool.. and it prob would make your contacs over at Vantec very glad
AAArgh pirates! And now for a little update.. Got the stuff from Vantec.. I have already modded the psu.. the pictures I show is not as it looks now, i just took them while sleeving cables.. but first.. The PSU.. I oppened it, and.. WOW! I haven´t seen a psu with such nice psu cooling ever before! OMG it is sooooo nice man.. (I am a coolerfreak.. Don´t bother.. hehe ) UUh I like this one specially..What do you think about sleeving all the way into the motor? When I was sleeving.. Now this is green! I also installed the Vortex HDD cooler..
