http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7637818.stm Anyone else think that looks about as real as postman pat?
Thing is...it probably is real. What they don't show are the failed attempts. So where's the European space agency's attempts? We spent the money on CERN instead presumably
Could say exactly the same thing about the first moon landings, at the end of the day, they all look fake because only a few people in the entire world have been to space.
Agreed. And space is just awesome. I doubt it's faked though. There's a Mythbusters about the 'faked' moon landing that would cover a lot of what you saw in this one-minute clip. For example, the flag's movement in a vacuum is consistent with what's in the video. And just from a logic standpoint, there are much more useful things for China to fake if they felt the need.
Hans Schlegel went EVA for 6 hours and 45 minutes during STS-122. He helped install Europe's Columbus module to the International Space Station. Prior to that, Thomas Reiter became the first European ISS crew member during Expedition 13. During his stay, he performed two EVAs. -monkey
Looks somewhat weird to me as well, but I'm in no position to question its validity. The more space-capable nations, the better (as long as a space-born weapons ban is in effect).
WHAT?? You mean the earth isn't FLAT?? IT MUST BE FAKE!! Where are the dinosaur footprints, heaven and the great wall? Fake fake fake
I heard teh intarwebs is fake, and we're all having one long, strange and scary dream!!!!1!!!eleven!!!
OK, how is it supposed to look? have much visual experience of outer space, have you? Good view from the living-room window, perhaps? People cried "fake" at The US moon landing footage because they let their uninformed prejudices inform their expectations. A bit like creationists challenging evolution based on their uninformed suppositions of how it works, rather than a real understanding of it. Again, seen too much Star Trek. You don't actually see the sun gently arcing through the sky over your head, do you? Same thing. You'd have to watch 4 minutes to see the Earth rotate but one degree.
With all the spyware littering heaven and Earth someone would have cried "Foul!" ages ago in the event of fakery or even events not quite going to plan. The Americans especially are watching any rocket launches very carefully, one may be going their way.
Awesome...millions of dollars later and the space station finally got their Chinese food they ordered.
