    Hi guys

Can you help me choose between these three graphic cards?

    The Asus DCII 7950 Cu-edition

    The Gigabyte GV R795WF3

    Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 OC

Which one would be the best for QUIET performance? Clockspeeds I don't give a damn about - I can clock it myself.

I'd personally go with the sapphire. they're supposed to be very quiet even on the stock fan profile when oc'd as far as you can push it.

Yeah I was just wondering about the cooling desing of the cards. The Asus has the triple slot cooler, which should make it better, but would suck for Xfire as it won't fit my motherboard. The Gigabyte on the other hand has 3 fans which would make sure that each fan has to move slower to move the same amount of air.
Then theres the Sapphire, where I simply relies on the fact that the company seems to get great reviews.

I've read reviews on all these and all are supposed to be quiet, but unless you can find a review with all 3 in or 3 reviews comparing each combination of 2, there's no sure way to find out which is the queitest. Also the sound will vary from case to case and the combinations of case fans. They're all sure to be quiet, I wouldn't go for the asus due to the 3 slots it takes up and would take the sapphire over the gigabyte on ppure asthetics. However with the giga having longitudinal heatpipes and pyramis shaped fins for less turbulance, it would probably be the quietest.

Yeah, the Gigabyte is fugly but quiet, and the Sapphire just looks a lot nicer but I don't have a case window.. Decisions decisions..

I personally think you would be better of with a 670, atleast the reviews seem to be great and I guess it would probably be cheaper as well.

If you really want to with with AMD this time around, then I prefer Sapphire and Asus.

BTW, before anyone flames me on mentioning the 670, I have been and continue to be a long time user of their products.

    Hey Picarro,

If you're going for a 7950, watch out when buying the Asus cu ii; they have used an old cooler recycled from the previous gen and some of them out there have problems. I got one because I found it at a very cheap price, no problems here, 29c idle 56c load and quieter than my case fans.

Oh the 670 seems might tempting, but I've already increased my budget from 7870 territory to 7950 territory.. For surround gaming at 5120x1200 I'm not sure if a 7950 would suffice. I'm just leaning more towards AMD as their Eyefinity technology is a bit more mature.
