alright, so I had a spare bay cover, and I wanted to make it a little more interesting.

    What I used -

    - tape, a ruler, a pen
    - a printed design (cut out)
    - one of those internal metal 5.25 bay cover things
    - sandpaper
    - a dremel with polishing disc & polish
    - a spare plastic bay cover
    - 2 leds (and resistors)
    - a nail file
    - a hot glue gun
    - some random hard clear plastic

    Alright, here we go!

because of the holes on this particular metal I was using, I had to shorten my design so it would fit between the holes. I then started to stencil the design using some tape and the pen.

there it is all taped up. I only fastened the paper on a tiny bit, so it would be easy to remove after I stenciled the design into the tape

finished the stenciling, heres the reference to the font I used (felix titling)

After using a combination of the drill press with a tiny drill bit and the dremel, this is what I came out with. Now it was time to clean it up a bit.

cutting the thingy out of the metal with the dremel.

here is the metal pretty much with no touch ups to it. I was going to file it down a bit and then start the polishing.

sandpaper from 320 up to 1000, I believe. I wetsanded with each of these.

At the swap meet I got a full dremel kit for like $7, and it came with some "jewelry polish". It looks a lot like rubbing compound however.

left side unpolished, right polished, my first run threw. Looking pretty good.

finished the polishing for the most part

    another bling bling shot

I then found a spare piece of plastic. Its not completely clear, kinda smoked.

Piece of plastic cut out, I later filed it down to fit inside the cutout I made in the drive cover.

drive bay mapped out for cutting

    A test fit.

These are the leds I use. Nothing powerful, but they do the job.

Here it is lighet with the leds

And there it is in the dark

There it is with the current mix n' match front of my case.

There it is in the dark. Its hard to see the tail on the 9, but its there in real life.

Hope you guys found this interesting.

You should of used a clear backing and made the 9 have a hole. Other than that, good job.. even thought it isn't my style.

awesome work, just an idea if you do this again, instead of using a sold color led see about putting one of thos multi color leds that fade from each color. that would be pretty kewl too. Otherwise great work.
