For my Project:False case Im planning to get some brass chromed but Im worried that some of the joints I will be soldering will come loose due to the chroming process. Can anyone shed some light on this????
If you're worried about the solder melting out of the joint causing it to come loose, I wouldn't worry, as Chroming is (IIRC) an almost totally electrochemical process. The only places I can think that heat may come into the process would be the cleaning/buffing of the pieces before the plating process. I think the baths of chromium salts and so forth used for the plating process are heated, but nowhere near hot enough to melt solder, as they're all aqueous solutions, and therefore unlikely to get much above 100C. The only potential problem I can see would be the chroming not sticking too well to solder or any remaining flux. The easy way out would be to go and ask the place you're going to have the chroming done at if they can give you any advice.
