Try experimenting with the white balance, often that can change the entire image for the better.

For the photos themselves, if you make sure the ISO is as low as you can take it (and thus the exposure long enough) and then use a tripod, you can get some really great and clear shots. Also, be sure to shoot in RAW format and then edit later in say photoshop. The amount of flexibility presented by shooting in RAW is unbelievable.

Since the paint itself is dark but iridescent, maybe you could try shooting in low key instead? So if possible, swap out the light background for a dark one. That may help to highlight the awesome paint that you've chosen as it won't have to contend with the backdrop.

How does this look? I only subtly changed a few things like the white balance, this would be much more effective in RAW though.

Lightroom's a great bit of kit, very useful for adding extra data to images and organising them. If working with loads of images, then lightroom is much faster than PS (which is a massive boon for pro photographers). It's also not destructive, in that the original photos are left untouched so that you can do stuff with them alter. However, Photoshop has a lot more depth to it and is an overall more powerful program. It's slower for large numbers of images and if you're not careful, can overwrite the originals quite easily. Having both makes for some really great opportunities really as you can mix the best bits from either.

    Hi B Negative
Very beautifull and refined job. I want to ask you where you bought that stuff with a black film that turns white in direct light.

Read the whole thing. So much awesomeness here, I don't even know where to begin.
Also a few odd ends and mishaps, but hey - why should we make a perfect casemod and leaving ourselves not being able to improve on the next project? :)

I see you got the Aquaero 5 XT. Any false signals from the capacitive touch buttons yet? (Known bug on those units)

I took the crazy way out - sold the Aquaero 5 XT and bought an Aquaero 6 PRO. Don't think version 6 of the XT has the same problem, but why take the chance when I don't really care about those buttons? ;)
