Hey everyone, I am currently using windows 7 RC on my laptop and need to upgrade. Basically should I do a complete reformat of my hard drive before I install windows? (such as Gparted)

    Thanks

It is always better to do a clean install if possible.
that way you don't have any "junk" left over from the last install

Yeah, i was planning to do a clean install rather than an upgrade, but my question is do i need to reformat my hard drive with another program such as Gparted before I run the windows installer?

or is a clean install enough?

EDIT: if i do a clean install without reformatting the drive, won't all my files and drivers be put in a windows.old folder?

so whats the best way to go about this?

Doesn't matter and you can format with the Win7 DVD. Just delete a partition and create a new one. Before installing WinPE will format the new partition.
