I spray lighter fluid over the paste and it just flies off, make sure it's the stuff in the aerosols and not the small tins tho, oh and make sure you do it away from naked flames
Wanna use it on an Intel pentium III. and theres a small hole in the heat spreader... would this cause any problems ?
Nah, the stuff evapourates right off anyways, it doesn't leave any marks behind or anything, just leave the processor for about 3 mins after squirting it clean and it should be right as rain.
But would nail polish remover or white spirit work ? I can find these things around the house somewhere, but I would have to go and buy some lighter fluid. Thanks
Nail Varnish remover sometimes leaves white marks behind, and lighter fluid strips the heasink grease right off, so i'd say go with that
Extracted from the ArcticSilver website: The recommended cleaners are: CPU Core: Use isopropyl alcohol or acetone (nail polish remover) and a bit of careful rubbing. (If you use acetone, do a final cleaning with isopropyl alcohol.) Heatsink: Use xylene based products (Goof Off, some carburetor cleaners and many brake cleaners.) or mineral spirits. Ak.
