at the weekend i took my computer apart and cleaned/rebuilt it.. since then everytime i have started the computer it comes up with a cmos checksum error on startup... and i dont no why.. everything except a hard drive went back in the same place.. ive noticed nothing wrong with the computer so it hasent effected the performance..
Check the battery isn't flat, that's often the culprit (could've nudged it etc). Have you tried plugging the other HD back in? You could try reflashing the BIOS, that'd probably help. Which mobo is it btw? It's not listen in your sig.
mobo is a gigabyte K8n-ultra 9 the hdd is really only a storage atm... could try BIOS flash and the battery...
Clear CMOS, this always happens to me when I install stuff temporarily. My BIOS is like hey you just put something in and took it out, I am confused. So have you tried a CMOS reset? If that doesn't work possibly a dead battery.
Re:cmos checksum... hey i also got the same problem...But get rid from it by just replacing the cmos battery. Ofcourse the cmos battery is the cheapest part of the computer. Hope this will help u.
