First rule of the Coffee Beans thread: Don't tell Mister_Tad Second rule of the Coffee Beans thread: Don't tell Mister_Tad! Alreet?! He'll only get annoyed with me for not doing it right. OK, the venerable filter coffee machine is no more - it died peacefully in the cupboard, it seems. Fair enough. It was old and served me well enough over the years - I have no complaints, other than the fact that I am without a coffee machine. Well, not for long - I have ordered a cheap and cheerful replacement filter coffee machine along with a new Kenwood blender/smoothie thingy (a bit like a NutriBullet, but without the rip-off price tag). Now, my colleague has the exact same blender thingy and he uses the mill attachment to mill coffee beans and the resulting brew was pretty decent. See what I mean about not mentioning this to Mister_Tad? Cheap £50 filter machine and not a burr grinder in sight - He'll be seething by now or, more likely, just shaking his head in pity. TL;DR Rather than buy ground coffee, I'd like to buy beans and experiment with my own blends. So, I'm after some recommendations for beans to try (obviously not in massive bags).
/shakes head (Try HasBean for beans though, more single origins than you can shake a stick at with comprehensive tasting notes for each, with regards to the rest of your post... not touching it )
