This is an extremely weird issue. My specs are in my signature by the way.

When I first try to turn my PC on, it will light up for a few seconds, then suddenly shut down completely like its turned off. A second later it will start up again by itself then it will boot as normal.
This issue doesn't happen when restarting the PC once its powered on properly and fully. And shutting it down and turning it on doesn't produce this error again either. It seems to happen when the PC has been off for a while.

I know full well it isn't my PSU since I very recently (yesterday) got a new PSU, and the issue existed before then.

This PC is new (built about a month ago) so this issue does concern me. I haven't had any performance issues bar blue screens of death that I solved weeks ago (caused by my SSD being in a marvell slot that the PC didn't like, changing slots fixed it).

It's not a OMGWTFHELP! issue as in that it doesn't stop my PC doing anything. It's just a little nuisance that I fear may eventually become a big problem (eg pc doesn't turn on at all).

    Thanks in advance :)

I've seen a few guys with this issue- since Im a noob though I suggest a quick search of the forum or google for 'Asus P67 Sabertooth cold boot' and it turns up several threads with solutions and discussion. :)

Cold boot seems to describe it perfectly. Thanks!
I'll update the Title of this topic, and I'll look into other forums and posts and see what I can dig up. Any advice directly from people here would be most appreciated however.

Got a friend who had this exact same problem!

    Firstly, go to the Asus website and get hold of the latest BIOS rev1801 if you haven't already and flash it;

    http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/SABERTOOTH_P67/#download

When done, go into the setup menu (Can't remember if it's F1/F2/del, but it should tell you which on screen when it boots)

go to the advanced tab -> APM -> click PCIE (enable it) then save/quit.

    Should be sorted :thumb:

This actually made the problem far worse. Even on a warm boot now (after flashing it) it takes 4/5 attempts for the PC to finally be able to boot.

That is ever so strange! worked a treat last time.

i think your best option at this point would be to put a post on the official Asus support forums, you'll bump into a lot more users familiar with the product and might get the attention of Asus support.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS.
Had cold boot issues with my replacement Asus P67 Pro B3, clearing the CMOS sorted it.

What is the CMOS and how do you clear it?

In the motherboard manual, Chapter 2, Page 12.
    It's called RTC RAM.

Have this issue occasionally with my current board (P8P67 Pro) and constantly with the old one(P5K-SE). The old one ran fine other wise for four years and is still running fine as far as i know with the guy i sold it too so it is unlikely to be a further problem.
