can any one see any problems with this circuit?
does the mobo header need a protection diode because the relay is an inductive load? if so what type should i use.
I think teh header should be ok, as fans are inductive as well
    thanks

Yes, add the diode. 1N4148 or 1N4001 will do.

I can't see any problems, but why? Isn't the fan header on all the time?

The fan headers on some botherboards can be controlled by software I believe.

when my system goes into suspend the fan headers go off, but the molexes dont, and my cathode is keeping me awake :sigh: so this circuit swill turn the cathode off when the comp goes into suspend.
Where does the diode go? in series with the relay coil?
