Cooling colling by deskfan

i know ive asked this before but

is it ok to cool by a 10inch desk fan with the cover off

what kind of dust issues am i going to be dealing with?

 

What are you cooling? I don't think the average CPU will be happy with just a desk fan. In some cases the air diverted by the CPU heat sink is also used for a breeze around the northbridge. So you may fry that too. The amount of dust depends on the environment where you are.

 

a) try it. if it overheats and crashes, the no.

b) lots of dust. lots and lots and lots.

 

ouch i dont have a cpu fan right now, well ok i have 1 i just need to move the heatsink to put it on (dont fell like explaning)

and no its not going to fry ive got other fans in ther aswell i was just asking if a could use a desk fan as a temp cpu fan

I would'nt try it.....something about no EMI shielding on a desktop fan I don't like...

o order 2 fans on newegg so like in a week ill be off the fan
