I am looking for some red acrylic rods and spheres. I have found plenty of clear out there, but very little in the way of colored. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a place that sold material like this or if there is a way to dye clear acrylic.

    Thanks!

Try www.usplastics.com, or failing that, make your own with polycarb casting resin and transparent dye. You can get that stuff at Hobby Lobby in the US, and I dunno in the UK...

The color has to be chosen when the acrylic is cast. There are no dyes that will penetrate acrylic.

if you have the final shape you want, but it is clear, you can spray it with transparent, or candy, paint. testors makes candy model paints that you can get pretty much anywhere you can get models. i would suggest this type over automotive paint due to the vast difference in cost and the testors is designed to adhere to plastic.

Yeah... I guess candy paint might work, I was hoping there was some secret dye that I did not know about. I'll give Testors a shot.

    Thanks Guys!

    You could try glass colour/paint.
