Software Coloring an illustration for my book, the freaking hard way...

    So this is the pen drawing I came up with for Fatal Optimization Chapter 13...

    I've got it in the computer, saved as a TIFF for max quality, and have it opened in PS right now.

    Since this was imported as a whole, I'm gonna have to color this the hard way-scale by scale.

    Should be fun, no?

    um, yeah. wow, that's incredible.

    not too sure about the photograph background though. it's too much detail compared to the fish. i'd go with some sort of smooth gradient of those colors. of course, i have trouble drawing stick men, so my advice probably isn't worth much.

    Yea, to me the background shouldnt be more detailed then the fish. I would stick to the same shading technique for the background and make it simpler.

    Thats a very good drawing btw. :)

    I have to agree with what's been said on the background. Keep the colors, ditch the detail. The whole thing is really pretty amazing though, you've got great talent.

    Wow kayinblack, that's some great pen skills you have there. What kind of pens/ink are you using?

    It doesn't look right having the tail between the fins.

    Looks like a cross between a carp and a plecostomus. Nice work.
