The pink LEDs in my rig have finally all turned blue... because they're all rubbish (dont buy pink LEDs.. the phosphor that is added to make them pink, by reacting to the blue LED's UV content is actually susceptible to fading in UV.. duh!!)... So... I replaced them with amber ones... and now I'm not so sure they look right. WHat do you think? The other alternative is red, but blue pipes, red blocks... everyone does that. Other choices are white, or possibly UV LEDs to light up the fluid in the blocks... but that's not much of a contrast. Ideas please
green... Hmmmm Would have to be true green.. not the yellowy green of your average green LED. NEver considered that TBH. I just like the idea of warm colours, or white... sort of indicative of heat, and power... sounds lame, but we connote such things on a subconscious level whether we realise it or not.... but semiotics of colour aside.... I'll do some photoshopping and see if green would work.
amber looks like your computer is on fire.. i would say red "every1 does that" who cares if it looks the best then do it if your after unique (but still nice looking) colours then go for white id say
yellow, you've already got yellow and blue in there, you dont want to add too many contrasting colours. imo green would look pants shouldnt this be in modding or something?
Err.. yes, it should I think. Mods.. please move to modding.. sorry about that. Yellow LEDs aren't really yellow at all... they're still amber. If I could get a proper yellow to match the UV parts, I would, but there appears to be no such thing. Red would look best I think, so as you say, perhaps it doesn't matter if it's been done to death. White seems to be the only unusual colour that would work well. I tried green in Photoshop and I wanted to vomit.
white will just "light up" the pc not actually give it a colour or a flavour ... shine a lamp into it if you want white
"white" does look good though even if is just normal light. Look at http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=82660
i like the amber, no one else has done that! i think it looks nice, i can see why u chose it! of course UV is the other option, white will just look stark n boring as as u said, the warm n power is what you are trying to display.
Ya go green, green looks mean lol. usually green leds are like you said true green. i did a few mods with them and it's... green loll This is the green i get with leds imbedded in frosted plexiglass (the two thingy's under the drives) Close up
As I've created a neat little sleeved wiring loom with a molex on teh end, I can easily unplug them. I'll make up another loom with white LEDs when I get teh time next, and that way I can switch between the two quite easily.. That's teh best way I think. The amber is growing on me, but it's just too bright. I may just dim them a little instead, and see how it goes. I'll try white... and possibly UV as well, but those suckers are expensive for a LED!!
I guess I'm the only one that likes the look of the amber ones? I say stick with them, it's a color I've not seen in a case before (at least not a nice enough one for me to remember .)
