    Hi ...

I've got two AVI files and I'd like to make one out of them. Is there any share- or freeware or a tryout programm that can do so ?

    Cheers

Cool ... I downloaded it and read the help file and the stuff on the homepage. I can't find how to do what I want to do. I'm not too good in English so I might just be skipping the option without knowing. Can anyone post an idiots guide on how to combine two AVI files ? Thanks a bunch !

    Cheers

I believe the option our looking for is the File > Append AVI segment after opening your first file.

You want to make sure that direct stream copy is selected for your A/V streams. Look under teh Video and Audio menus respectively ;)

Sorry I can't be of much help, I do my video work in Mediastudio Pro, and have rofgotten most of VDub ;) Which is far from free. However www.ulead.com does have a trial download, but that would be a fair chunk of work.

    heh...

    run cmd.exe

    Code:
    type avi1.exe >> avi2.exe
(yes, you can just cat avi files together)

    unless im thinking of mpegs?

I wouldn't think that would work, as you would need Windows to have native support for teh codecs and compression techniques, no ?

I cant recall if its mpegs or avis but one of them you can just add the files together end to end and it causes no problems... I remember because I once cat'ed three porn mpegs into one on my linux desktop...

    *needs a ****** smilie*

    :p

If it was then it was most likely MPEG, as that requires the least in terms of building and structure, MPEGs can stream and such, so makes more sense.

    EDIT: Hmm.. Wow, that's censored ? Interesting . . . . .
