Just after a bit of advise really. Last November, I purchased a TV through eBay, from a company called Lemac. I phoned to make payment for the tv on thursday 13th November (afternoon). The money didn't leave my account until the following tuesday, and after not hearing anything from them I went down to the bank to check that the money had gone. Affter phoning to find out why it took so long for the money to reach their account I was told that someone should be phoning me the day the item is sent, and the item should be with me by the end of the week. It wasn't! I called again the following week to see what was going on, and this time was told that they'd had a problem with the tv stands, but it was sorted now (no communication to tell me there was a problem though!). Once again, I was told it'd be with me by the end of the week... Surprise surprise, it wasn't. I called again (that's 3 calls now) a week later, and after being on hold for about 5 minutes because some dozy sod couldn't find the paperwork, was told that they didn't actually have all the TV's in stock (I think they'd advertised 10 on eBay). So that excuse totally contradicts the previous ones! My last call was made to them during the beginning of January, and I was again told that someone would call me as soon as they received the new stock. Fair enough, I did actually forget about this item as I've had other things on my plate, and emailed them a few weeks ago, but got no response. I'm gonna phone tomorrow and cancel the order (or at least find out what's going on - I don't even want the tv now anyway!) Is there enough here to make a complaint to trading standards? I mean, they are a "proper" company that trade through their website... Unfortunatly, it's too late to get any money from eBay, as it's been 6 months now...
That sucks. It's definitely worth ringing trading standards to find out what they can do. Although, i'm not sure how they stand on something like that. Hope you get it sorted.
