Lol I don't mind downloading and applying patches to games... at least I didn't have to program it. What I don't understand is I'm being told to download the game because it takes too long to download and apply the patches for the retail edition? Good thing I went retail, besides I tend to dl around 5mbps so shouldn't take too long to download the patches, I'm a patient guy. I suppose the "pay lots more to save a few hours time" is good advice for those of us who value our time a lot
One of my all time favourite games. Finished it in single player and had many happy hours of multiplayer online strategy playing with a friend. I have the Eastern Front mod already installed (which is awesome and free).......I am left wondering what else can be brought the second installment of the game except better graphics?
I loved the first, replayed it quite a few times, sholuld again on my new comp so i can actually have GFX at full. Could not get into one of the expansions, the German one which starts on operation market garden. But this sounds interesting, i like a break from the "Norm" (US vs Nazis/Japs) nice to have a different front etc.
Based on what the magazine article said, it's going to have some more believable/realistic mechanics. Things like snow affecting the movement of vehicles, improved cover systems. Line of sight based on what your units can see as opposed to the traditional fog of war and Flamers being able to melt snow to name a few. The "not one step back" mantra that the soviet army implemented in the middle of the war seems like something that would work well for the campaign but i'm not so sure about it being in multiplayer. It might very well mess up the squad preservation essence of CoH. I also wonder how much they are going to sanitize the gameplay.
I could have told you that Maybe give it a try on Lyon. Block and destroy the bridges and create a choke point. Use howitzers from infantry regiment and see what happens
I'd have no chance on Lyon, although when I've played it before they've held behind the bridge until I've advanced, not sure they'd do that on expert though! I probably wouldn't be able to clear the west side of the bridge on expert .
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG um, well yes i just went a little CK, but its a OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG moment!!
Really looking forward to this game, especially with Russians (that should have been in the original anyway..) I just hope they scale the battles properly, because on CoH they're just skirmishes really. Also the AI needs serious work. At the moment, the computer just spams with all the bonus resource it gets (some times as much as 5x!) The AI is the reason I don't really play the game at all anymore.. Hopefully Relic will look at a couple of the mods available for CoH and borrow some ideas.
Slated for an 'early' 2013 release... Let's hope the word 'console' stays way, way away from this one...
Hmm, my game came today, the anthology is all on one disc and includes 2 serial numbers. I've used both but when the game loads up and I sign into relic it automatically take me to the Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor main menu. This may seem ridiculous but I don't know how to access the other games? I would rather start with the original then begin playing the expansion if you understand what I mean.
The original campaigns should be under the campaign menu of Tales of Valor. The first mission should be the Normandy one. This is what you see, just with the unlocks. (sorry for the german)
perhaps not. Fully understandable...now go read up how to really pronounce it (It was the only picture readily available on Google)
