Hey, I have an old Compaq PI system which i will use for my smoothwall (ill be modding it next week sometime ). There is one slight glitch, i cant enter the BIOS. Ive tried lots of different keys but i just cant find the god damn b***er! can someone please help me ? thanks, .icecube
no handbook, bought second hand. its very very old, doubt there is any support for it on there site ... ill take a look... .icecube
right, i just found out that the BIOS is a partition or something, and the only way to get it back after its gone is to get some software which i cant find... oh well. how lame! lol. man, Compaq are the worst people in the world! lol. .icecube
Compaq weren't the only ones to put the bios in a hidden partition. In the computer world many companies do snidy things such as tatooing the system which means if 2 out of 3 components are changed the recovery disc doesn't work. Compaq and ibm had a bad name as they used to use non standard parts (not sure if they still do) so the user had to buy from them.
