Okay, well I thought it was about time to upgrade my aging Compaq v6000. Well, I had it for 1 year, so it's not that old. But I could use a performance boost for how heavily I use my laptop. Like running a virtual operating system and maxing out my RAM usage. Now there's not much you can upgrade on a laptop, for me about all I can do is install more RAM and a bigger and faster HDD. So that' exactly what I'm going to do. Current Specs AMD Turion TL-56 x2 Processor running at 1.8Ghz Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 GPU 2GB Corsair VS DDR2 667 RAM 160GB 5400RPM 2.5" HDD Windows Vista Home Basic Here's what I ordered. 4GB of Corsair VS DDR2 667 RAM $74 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145193 WD 250GB 7200RPM 2.5" HDD $120 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136279 Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit Edition $100 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116488 So let's get started! Wait, where's my laptop?! Oh wait, that's right, my ****ing wireless card burned out and it's still at the HP repair facility. Well, actually it's on its way back. I had to send it in because the wireless stopped working. a known defect with my model. Even though it's out of warranty, they still fixed it for free. Its on its way back now, I should have it by Monday. I just ordered the RAM, HDD, and Vista today and I'm having that overnighted also. I should have everything by Monday. Also, I should make note, another reason why I'm upgrading my laptop is one of my RAM sticks went corrupt a day after the wireless card stopped working. Go figure on the odds of that happening. Monday I should have everything, expect an update than.
