    Hey everyone,

    I'm building a computer by hand :D

Which is something i've never done before :wallbash:

And I would like you all to check over all this to make sure that i didn't miss something that won't work in it, because i have a very tight budget and can't afford to have to buy something else just to make it work

    I have:

(all part numbers are from new egg)

RAIDMAX Black 10-bay Case with 420W Power Supply, Model "ATX-822WBP" -RETAIL - #N82E16811156140

    MSI Black 52x32x52 CD-RW Drive, Model CR52-M Black, Retail - #N82E16827100038

SAMSUNG 160GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive, Model SP1604N, OEM Drive Only
#N82E16822152011 (could someone tell me if i need cables, if so what cables i need for this also?)

    2x Mushkin 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200 - Retail
    #N82E16820146219

KDS XF-7BK 17" Xtreme Flat CRT Monitor –RETAIL
    #N82E16824155031

MSI nForce3 250 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Athlon 64 Socket 754 CPU, Model "K8N Neo Platinum" (MS-7030) -RETAIL
    #N82E16813130457

    AMD Athlon 64 2800+, 512KB L2 Cache, 64-bit Processor - Retail
    #N82E16819103452

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS PCI Sound Card, Model "SB0350" -RETAIL
    #N82E16829102162

POWERCOLOR ATI RADEON 9800PRO Video Card, 128MB DDR, 256-bit, DVI/TV Out, 8X AGP, Model "XR98-C3" -BULK
    #N82E16814131238

I'm also getting a headset, but im sure that will be compatible.
If you can see anything that won't match please post it here or send it to my email address along with an alternative that would be relatively close price wise.

    Thanks in advance

Firstly, its in the wrong section, but i'm sure it'll get moved... :worried:

Looks like you've got essentials there, other stuff you'll need:

    Case fans.

    CPU cooler.

IDE Cables (one for the HDD and one for the CD/RW drive)

    Keyboard and Mouse. :)

Keyboard and mouse are quite important, pick the wrong ones and you'll regret it.

For mouse I'd pick something like a Logitech MX500 (my personal favourite)
    And for keyboard, Logitech again

Missing another obvious thingy ..... Moan-itor.

Personally this is something I would not cut corners on .... as its a Human Computer Interface and you only have a single pair of eyes.
