Thats a very messy case, but then I did spend a couple of hours sorting the wires on mine. I've got photos on my profile if you want pointers. Pop to Maplins and get yourself a big tub of wire ties, they help alot!

I assume your refering to your PSU? It'll work ok like that, but dust may fall into it, probably less than it'll hoover from under your case (assuming it doesn't have a dust filter).

Edit: I'd advise against leaving machines on when not in use as it'll shorten their life, plus will add needlessly to your electricity bills. That light is the hard drive activity light, it's because windows 7 atuo defrags in the background when a machine is idle.

Aye, definitely now you've got past the excitement of building your first pc, rip it up and start again! Cable ties as the man says will sort things out, cable management is a fine art.

Can you tell what's making the noise?

Do it tomorrow, spend a good couple of hours at it and you'll be rewarded at the end with a beautifully tidy machine. :)

the fans, they make too much noise :p

buy yeh, going to disassemble it forthe cables, one more question, my heatsink, its totally fine if i turn it facing the GPU right**i mean wont it mess up with that sticky thermal thing? or do i ahve to apply a new paste? cuz i have a fan on top of the heatsink **case has a fan on top of it, a massive one, 120 i think*

Yeh, set it so it blows through the heatsink and out the top of the case. As for the fans, as good fan controller would fix that, at the cost of cooling potential. The only real option is to get better fans...

download Prime95 and run a torture test on all 4(?) cores. What load temps are you getting? Anything less that 70C is more than ok. Use Real Temp to find the core temps.

Cable is better than wireless, I had my dad run one upto my bed room for me. I'll keep an eye out for it tomorrow.

One thing I would note is that on AMD systems, I install the Freezer 7 Pro with the fan at the bottom, near the graphics card. At the moment, you are drawing air downwards from the roof, and it's getting blown onto the back of the graphics card before getting lost in your system, and then sucked out by the rear fan.

The Utgard has a roof fan, doesn't it? Currently, your CPU cooler fan and that roof fan are working against each other for air. The Roof fan is sucking air out, and the CPU cooler is trying to suck air in. This'll give less than optimal cooling. With the cooler the other way up, the air gets sucked right out of the case by that roof fan. There's also an extra slot gap between the cooler and graphics card, for you, so the GPU shouldn't affect the air getting to the CPU cooler.

Wow, I completely missed that same conversation up there. XD Ignore me.

    Live by your means!!

    Hi

Try looking at Aria.co.uk as they have good prices and they also, like other online companies have bundles, which may help you as you are a beginner. Read up on the reviews on websites about all components.

If you need a cooler I have a second hand vgc titan fenrir which is still very good for £20.

HD5770 is an upgrade to HD4870 as it has DX11 but runs about same speed. I have a refurbished HD4870 which I just got back from Sapphire in Hungary and this thing produces more heat and uses more power than the newer cards.

Remember don't go OTT on things that are out of your price range.

Producing a list of items will be monumental as there are so many.

    Good luck.
