They are .090", i forget what that translates into in mm..:duh: The reason I am using .090" for accents is bring out depth in the accents itself. I could have used .040. that is just to thin of AL. for when you look at the case. I wanted the accents to stand out and give flow to the case.

Update: Resvoir Done Welded and Etc....

Hello, Loggin time. Now I'm really wondering if anybody else in the modding community has done a complete one-off welded custom resvoir. I've seen CNC machined Resvoir and the likes, though I could be the first one to have a one-off welded AL. Res. Of course, I could be wrong, and please correct me if I am.:duh:

I can finally start to head to completion of this case with finally gettin back the Res and the Hard Drive brackets welded up. The Arylic is hitting the door tomorrow so it is goin to be a busy weekend for me.:dremel:

Finally got the Res. done welded. It took 2 weeks of welding so the Res. would not bend in and out and retain it's shape properly. Small welds one at a time and than let the Res. cool down.

The weld was pulsated after the initial weld to make the weld look more professional.

Filing a little notch so the fins can be JB welded in. More on that later...

The Res. with the Hard Drive brackets with their triangular mountin plates welded on.

Drawing a keel line so the Res and the HD brackets line up properly.

You can see the keel line in the middle, lining up in the middle of the Res.

Boom! I know this pictures jumps from the last one, though here is the HD brackets and the Res lined up, along side the mock-up CD-Rom, that little white thing.

You can also see that the one watercooling hose will run in between and thru the hard drive bracket. :thumb:

    An overhead pic.

Better pic to show the line up down the middle.

Take out the breathier and see if this Res is LEAK PROOF.

    Wow, No LEAKS! :duh:

Hillbillying the Fins on with JB weld on.:wallbash:

    Enjoy!

Update: Arylic Exterior Work! Part 1

Hello. Time for Part One of the Arylic Exterior panel work. The arylic will be mounted behind the AL. and be illuminated when all said and finished. I am using Flourscent Arylic from Devlies Plastic's, thanks Bit-Tech for the heads up on the supplier, cause these ppl are great in getting product to you.

Got the sheets in Today. They are 2 X 2 feet square. Wait, maybe 3 feet:duh:

I ordered Red, Blue, and Clear.

Started by tracing than putting a 5mm gap all around the accent. Which u can see by the pencil line.

I will recut a piece of AL to cover the corner gap.

    Enjoy. More updates tomorrow.

Update: Arylic Exterior Work! Part 2

Hello. I gotta do this log quick before I head out to this food dealers dinner...lets go

Picking up from where I left off. The last row to the very right in this pic is NOT surrounded by arylic because of space. It also looks good for appearance too, from my point of view.

The left side is done onto the right side.

As you can see the middle row in the middle of the pic comes down in the front with a very tight clearance to the row to the left. I may rework this row.

    Left side is done.

In this pic, I wanted to show that I re-cut a piece of AL. to close the corner gap

    Both corner gaps now closed.

This is the piece of Arylic from which every piece was cut. Thought you may want to see it.

    Enjoy. Part 3 tomorrow.

    Update: Exo-Skeleton Part 3

Hello. I was in the middle of my workin on my case today when I came across a concept that is embedded in my case that I completely forgot about.:duh:! That concept applies to what is transpiring across the cover of the case. The accents are more than merely than just accents, but also and primilary act as a Exo-Skeleton for the case. The Exo-Skeleton gives additional support and structure to the case cover. Along side the look aspects too.
I finished up fabricating the pieces for the Exo-Skeleton, now time for mounting.

    Update: Finishing up Exo-Skeleton

Hello. I just put some of the final fabrication to the Exo-Skeleton on the top cover to rest.:thumb: I will go back and make some subtle changes, PLUS I still have to put LEDS in all of these along with the wiring and such. I still have to mount the Bottom accents near the rear exhaust of the case. Stay tuned for that. Lets go log...

This is where I left off, needing to finish the other side.

POOF!!! All done! Really I would take pics of the fabrication sequence if people ask and wanted me to. Always can request:naughty:

Tuck pointed the corners just as I did on the other side.

I'm going to leave these corners open because these panels come off so I can access the motherboard to hook cable up.

You will see one piece on the bottom row at the end that is not mounted. I will be installing a Slot Load DVD drive there. No need to drill the holes wrong now and hit me head against the wall for doing so. I will revisit this later.

What the inside looks like with all the nuts.

    A close up.

I gotta say this looks awesome for all points of View.

    Enjoy.

    Update: Power Supply Mounting Time

Hello. So I was online last night lookin for a power supply to buy. Was trollin away on Newegg and found a ThermalTake 1200w, so I decide to give MicroCenter a shot, which there is one by me, and I found they were a running a sale that I same one I wanted. Now all I got to do is order my Mobo, besides many other things....

    Loggin time...

There it is. Man!!! This son of a gun is heavy around 3-5lbs:wallbash:...WTF, I'm tryin to save on wieght!

Cut this Backplate out and screwed up:duh:

    Re-Cut and it fits better

    nice and even

Cutting out for the on/off switch

Looks good. I drilled and tapped the holes for mounting. I put a piece of paper over the Power Supply fan so no dirt gets in while its in my fabricating area and it is out in the open. I also put the clamps on the mounting brackets...

    JB welding those brackets on!!

    Stay Tune for part 2

    Enjoy

Cool project! Gotta give kudos for the weirdo shape and the exterior details as I'd never have the nerves to start making something as complicated :D

Also note to self: get some of this JB-weld stuff.

    Update: Watercooling Installation

After finally gettin the power supply mounted, I started to work more on the watercooling part of the case. Lets go...

Took a trip to microcenter and found a pump that measured the clearances I needed.

Did some drilling and taping to mount

Those are 1/2" barbs. This watercooling installation is drivin me crazy:dremel: cause the clearances are in the Millimeters.

everything is jus cramm'd in there:dremel:

Time to drill holes for the tubes

That is a 1" hole made with a hole saw

    Enjoy!

Is that a cast iron 90 degree elbow? you might want to take that out of your loop, just a thought.
