Yeah weirdo as in complicated as heck :) Gotta give kudos for I can't even cut stuff in straight line, let alone could I ever line all those pieces up properly.

Ya I feel ya!!! Originally I wanted this case to be CUBED shaped and simple. I wanted to design a case around a mATX system with watercooling though as I got into the design stage i jus realized it wasnt going to work out. I always try to have channeled airflow for my radiators in my case. Rather than jus bolting them in there with everything else and seeing a performance temperature drop cause the air is stagant and hot already from the other components.

Another great case to look at with complexity is the Car Themed case. That is some great metal work being done by hand.

You, yourself can do metal work like this you jus gotta try and practice and ask questions, cause I do and it is the only way I learned some things. This forum is the best on the planet when it comes to Modding.

    Update: Window Pre-Design

Hello. So I'm moving onto the windows of this case. I put a poll up to get a feel for how people are viewing this case from a design aspect. I'm really torn on whether or not to put windows in. I originally did intend to do so, I took a step back and I am really wondering now.

I did some sketchup on the case though with a pencil....

That pyramid triangle in the middle will be an opening for the fill port. The rest will be windows.

    my tools of the trade.

    side windows.

    Now jus what to do???:wallbash:

I think those windows would look good in those places where you have drawed them. :)

    Update: MotherBoard Installation work

Hello. Had trouble yesterday tryin to upload photos to this site, finally got the issue fixed today. Time for an update on the Log.

The motherboard I will be using. It will go along with my paint design.

    Very tight fit.

Cutting the hole for the IO panel. Millimeters of clearance for stuff, I mean only a couple of Millimeters too. :duh::dremel:

Hope this mobo works, cause they wont like this if i return it. Off with the edges.

    like a glove

    Drilling for the motherboards mounts

    Got all the mounting done.

The bracket the will hold down the Video Cards. I was going to weld it, though the heat would start to BEND the metal in ways I wouldnt like

    Clearance are Tight! :wallbash:

In SLI I wont be able to access one of the ports. Sometimes you have to sacrifice.

    Enjoy

Damn... I'v been gone for a little while and you'v done quite a bit of work. Well done.

As for the window, imo, that depends on where it will be AND if it will be flush mounted or not.

    Aelro Dynamic: CD-DVD work

Where has the weekend gone. First it was the time change this morning and now I have run out of room on Bit-Tech for image hosting:nono:!! Onto Photobucket...lets get to the log.

I know I have jumped around a bit in fabrication, though I did a general plan from the beginning and as I fabricate I move to the final position of where everything is going.

Today it is the CD-DVD burner.

It is a Lite-On burner that is 5"x5"X.5"

tracing and cutting for a bracket to go around the burner. I may add a window in.

Bending time. I tryed using my small by hand bend press. It worked only for the one bend, the other bend I had to do it the old-fashion way with a hammer and some heat

    final result

jus got to notch this corner out so it will clear the hold down bracket. I forgot to take a pic. I get one though:wallbash:

    Measured and drilled

Looking like it is going to rock and roll

    bye bye

Used a small cutting disc for more control and it gives a straighter cut.

    It fits:clap:

Now jus to mount this burner down

Glad that is all in. Though I'm not done yet with these pieces

    Enjoy.

    Update: Backlighting the Motherboard

    Update:

I going to be backlighting the motherboard, but first I had to cut some holes for watercooling tubes for the pump and power.

    the holes that need cutting.

the hole that was cut for the watercooling pump's hoses.

    time to backlight that motherboard

This is going 2 be awesome:jawdrop:

Backlighting the components in the rear of the case too

    Enjoy: More tomorrow

    Update: Windows Part 1

Hello! I've been very busy with real life stuff and working on this case. I'm just going to start with the Windows...

So I ran a poll and I decided to put windows in. Lets hope I'm doin the right thing. I dont want to have to refabricate this cover.

I cut the first piece out and traced it. There is a 10mm gap on the outside edge for the bolts holes

Drilled and Mounted. This is looking Great!

Wow, the Resvoir just fits.:thumb: I think I got a 1/16th of clearance

The holes are drilled for the other side. All I do now is jus cut the piece of Arylic and drill the holes out after I marked them off with a pencil.

    Looks Great!

    Whats up next...

    Enjoy

Update: Power Button, Windowing the Slim DVD drive

Hello! Time for a big update. Been busy fabricating with the case. Haven't had much time to sit done and do some logging. Thanks for all the comments!

These are the back lower accents. I doing some mounting and drilling for the LED holes.

Drilled the pilot hole in the pic above this and than traced the hole to the frame and than drilled this hole

There are two holes one for the bolt to mount the accent and the other for the LED

As you can see there is other accents already done. I jus chose to show how one was done and the process is the repeated the same after that.

    Power button!

    Pilot hole

3/4" hole saw. Did the trick:dremel:

    Final hole cut

    Installed:clap:

Time to window out the Slim Dvd Drive. I am a WARRANTY VOIDER!:nono:

First I have to drill the old holes out so mine can accept newer bigger screw heads
That is a 1/16th drill bit

    Taping with 2-56 tap.

Looks great. These screws heads will be cut down.

Cut out the window hole. Simple design.

    Completed Drive with window.

    Enjoy

    Update: Paint Part 1

Hello. I have been gone for a minute it seems like. Been busy doing small stuff to the case, though the time has finally come to Paint:clap:

A HUGE THANKS goes out to Rex Auto Body for helping me out with all my Case Projects!!

    Lets go....

Outside the shop, feelin the hangover from the night before

Put the case in pieces on a lift and started to shoot some primer

Did the underside of everything first, let it dry under the lamps and flipped it over

Curing under the lamps. Those things are sweet.

Shooting the top of the case

After the top was done with primer, we went back and shot this Glide coat, so when I sand
I know where I am at with relation to the metal and bondo.

Time to sand out the primer and get it ready for paint next

Stay Tuned I got some awesome One-Off custom colors:thumb:

    Enjoy

    Update: Sanding Primer

Update: Sanding Primer. I left off with the glide coat on needing sanding off. Some of the pieces did not have the glide coat so they just got a regular sanding. I am using 220/320 grit sand paper. The final sand will be wet sand with 400 grit.

I started sanding. I wanted to show the difference between sanding the glide coat off and the glide coat still on.

Went to town on the front of the cover.

As I made my way to the back of the case. You see that I left lines on all the seams. This is for
when the case gets painted. At least that is what I am told.

Leaving the seams with a little raised edge is really going to give this case one hell of a look.

    Down the sides...

    Lastly....

I will be putting these all on a wire to get painted...Stay Tuned

    Enjoy
