Update 3rd, October - Painted and Built

I finally got un-lazy on this one... I painted the chassis and built the system this weekend, in between things on my other project. I've decided (for now at least) not to re-do the top cover, as I feel it gives it a certain... character, a sort of "Been around the block" sort of look to it... I also didn't want to mess with getting paint matching with the monitor, etc... So I just painted the bottom half flat black.

    enough tell, more show...

After waiting for that to dry, I had decided instead of transferring my current desktop into it, I bought a used CPU (thanks to xxxSABESxxx) and some RAM and just use some of the spare parts I've got sitting around...

May take some more pictures tonight depending on how I feel, and get them uploaded in the next few days, otherwise this one is done :)

Thanks to those who were watching and contributing.

Well done Mos, it looks great (a real 'sleeper' of a PC). I bet if you showed it to some mates they'd quickly laugh at it, until you turn it on :D Good job again.

Thanks :) That's sort of the plan... I'm helping host an Age LAN (5th year running, playing AoE II) in 2 weeks, so we'll get it out there for that and see how it goes :D

Thanks Dragulax, glad you like it :thumb:

Since it got bumped anyway... I thought I'd add a little update... sadly this didn't make the move to my new apartment very well... the screen broke inside the monitor :-( So I haven't been using that, but I've been using this box to run as a development web/SQL server for random stuff I've been working on :)

I love recycling old (non-functional) hardware like this :D Still want to do something like this for an MSX-style (keyboard-integrated) system... Would be fun :dremel:

Awesome mod Mosquito, plenty of nice touches to this, nearly flew by unnoticed was super quick.:dremel::)

Think if I took a picture of the screw driver with metal afro I'd have put some googly eyes on it with a mouth. :D Note to self, buy some googly eyes. :D Seen cheapskate do it a while ago on a cut thumb & it was awesome. :hehe:

Thanks Waynio :) It took about 7 months start to finish, but that was mostly because of a 2-3 month long time between finishing modding and finally painting it

I should have put eyes on it, as at the time I was living with my parents, and my mother makes puppets (actual puppets, not sock puppets, think Muppet or Sesame Street style) for an outreach ministry at our church, so we have all kinds of puppet eyes in the basement

I didn't check the date of first post or the other posts :duh: quality mod though. :D

Wouldn't puppet type eyes be too big?. :D The pic needs photoshopping, could make for a cool funny avatar that is very modding oriented. :hehe:

    It's all good :)

I suppose most puppet eyes would be too large, but she has many of the bubble type eyes, for smaller things like birds, a baby puppet, etc...

    Avatar... hmmm ... <<< ;)

edit: kind of looks like it should be in a hair metal band... Ha! Ok yeah sorry...
