Hello guys.... I think you was wondering why I'm not posting like before... The Reason is because I was on a holiday so had no internet access and wanted to stay away from computers ( Take a break ) I went on this holiday for about 2.5 months and I left my computer turned off and I unplugged all the cables. But when I came back and Turn on my computer... After like 5 mins it freezes and /i need to restart it from the switch... I tried to Format the windows, clean the hardware and changed ram slots.. same problem... Edit : I'm sure that there is no overheating and the Power supply is fine for sure.. Thanks
Try a boot cd, (Ultimate Boot Cd, Hiren's[my favorite], or even a copy of Ubuntu), and play around for a while, let it run, if it still freezes, it's probably not your HD, go to next step. If it is still freezing on a live cd, You need to figure out if it's your ram, mobo, cpu, or psu. Keep testing with a live cd, as it should allow you to get through your tests a little faster. Usually I would start with ram from another pc, as it's probably the easiest to change. Make sure it's a supported type for your problem pc. Then I would change PSU's from a working pc, again, as it's usually easier to change than a mobo/cpu. I know you said you know for sure it's good, but for the amount of time it takes to test it vs. cpu/mobo, why not? Next up is probably cpu/mobo, and if you've gotten this far, it might be time to take it to a Pc Repair shop, as they should have a cpu/mobo to test with if you don't.
I can do that. Only thing that i don't have a motherboard that support my CPU but the rest hardware i have backup okay thanks for the advice.. I will start testing from now.
Welcome back, CK. Hope you had a good holiday! Bit of a bummer you've come back to a PC that doesn't want to play Agree with B3CK's advise, rule things out for sure. Try it with one stick of ram and make sure the hsf is on securely - possibly re-seat it if possible and maybe clean off and redo the thermal goop if you have any.
Thanks kenco_uk I really missed the forums... and the holiday was not bad.. too many things happened I will write about it soon. And yeah it makes you feel depressed that you come to a PC that don't want to play or even to work or surf internet. Thanks buddy
Me too buddy Nice to see all of you again Yeah buddy. They are perfect. That why I'm sure it's not from overheating.
Hey guys... While I was getting ready to take my computer apart I thought that I should format because it's easier and faster And guess what? The problem is gone! ( so far ) But it's weird that when windows stay turned off for 2 months.. Make it don't work again. Thanks for all help guys
Welcome back! Do you have auto Windows update on? Maybe after 2 months is just tried to download a load of updates and something went wrong.
But you will pay attenssion, it may be interface to interface problem, maybe memory, maybe graphic card, just do a neccessary clean to your computer a month or several months, the ugly problem will gone,My advice.
