    no. get a better graphics card if you want to play the sims 2 or aoe3. you can pick up a cheap geforce5500 with 128mb memory for about £40 now anyway

    edit: and yeh, this is in the wrong forum. and plz dont use all caps in the title, thats just obnoxious :p

    You can pick up a Radeon 9800Pro for about £50 in the members market here, if they let you in that is :geek:

    :worried: The Radeon 7000 is a VERY slow card and is now at least 6 years old. It's slower than the GeForce1, GeForce2 or GeForce4MX. Like the GF1/2/4MX & Radeon 7x00 cards the 7000 only supports DirectX7 although you should find they are 'compatible' with DirectX9 (as in the drivers work with DirectX9 but there is no hardware support for DirectX9 features). I would suggest spending £30 or so on a much faster card, here's a list for an idea of speed bearing in mind as cards get newer they tend to become more efficient and hence perform faster than these paper specs suggest ...

    DirectX7
    7000 => Core=183+30 RAM=2.9
    7200 => Core=333+30 RAM=2.7
    7500 => Core=580+45 RAM=7.4
    GF2MX => Core=350+20 RAM=2.7
    GF4MX => Core=540+34 RAM=6.4 (based on the mid-speed MX440)

    DirectX8
    8500 => Core=1100+75 RAM=8.8
    9000 => Core=1000+32 RAM=6.4 (9200 is the same)
    GF3 => Core=800+40 RAM=7.4 (based on standard GF3)
    GF4TI => Core=1100+125 RAM=8.8 (based on the mid-speed TI4400)

    DirectX9
    9600 => Core=1300+162 RAM=6.4 (9600 are slightly slower than 9500)
    9700 => Core=2200+275 RAM=17.3
    X300 => Core=1300+163 RAM=6.4
    X700 => Core=3200+600 RAM=11.2
    GF6200 => Core=1200+225 RAM=8.8
    GF6600 => Core=2400+225 RAM=12.0 (RAM speed varies)

    Those are mostly the standard versions of the respective card, as a rule the 'SE' or 'MX' suffix means they are much slower while the 'Pro' or 'XT' suffix perform much faster (versus the standard version).
