My HTPC is now in the final stages of planning, but i'm not sure how to connect my xbox to a PC...do i need a special type of tuner, or can i use the 3 plugs the scart adaptor plugs into? -Brooxy
So long as you card has Composite in (the yellow jack from the standard AV cable) you should be able to take the video signal without issue but its quite possible for audio that you will need to convert the RCA jacks to a 3.5mm stereo jack. There are adaptors available out there to connect RCA -> RCA so you can simply get those adaptors then one of those usually easy to obtain RCA => Headphone cables which people use to plug mp3 players into stereos and you should be fine. (sorry if this seems pretty vague, Ive only just woken up)
As far as i know, there may be some TV tuner cards that have 3 scart inputs, dont hold me to it Andy, as i may be wrong Sam
I dont know about scart but at the moment i plug my red white and yellow cables into an adapter then into the tuner card Other TV Cards have the red white and yellow sockets in allready, then you just select composite from the software and do whatever you want to do If your going to play games on the PC monitor i dont advise it because there is delay especailly in FPS games
Get a vga switcher box and connect the xbox directly to the monitor. Then you can have nice high def gaming.
I tried connecting my xbox through my PC once and it looks awful, mighta just been that I had a crap monitor back then theough.
