Flippin hell.. how do you guys with em manage..? I'm in agony and I'm still not used to sticking my finger in my eye! This is going to take some practice. Any tips?
for what, giving you that bloodshot look? I don't know how you guys stick your fingers in your eyes either... I guess you get used to it.
make sure they arent inside out. for me it feels more natural to have them in than out. seriously. i don't even feel them anymore. Oh and if you want a cheap coloring meathod... put a few drops of food coloring in the case, let sit overnight. works like a charm. for a whole year i wore different colored contacts. a different color in each eye MUCH better than glasses in any case. I hate glasses now.
i used to wear contacts (up until about 2 weeks ago), but i was at work working on an exhaust when i got a piece of metal in my eye, scratched my cornea and can't wear contacts no more.... though having to wear glasses has its plus side... my gf thinks i look sexy in them
contacts and glasses are old school.....i had LASIK laser eye surgery about a year and a half ago, and havent look'd back since (pardon the pun). i do remember many years ago when i first got contacts though, and i remember being almost in tears, fustrated with the things....got used to them in a few weeks....they were useless for using the computer though, you tend not to blink much when your stareing at a screen, and for me anyway, my eyes got realy dry after a few hours.... go laser surgery man, it will change your life, especially if you've been wearing glasses/contacts for a while....i wore them for 10 years before i had lasik......its so nice not to have any glasses fog up, contacts dry out etc....not to mention that it restores a normal field of vision.....
1) Who can afford Lasic? I could buy a new top of the line comp for that price (trust me, i looked into it, no pun intended) 2) I have a normal field of vision with contacts. I would love to have it done though.
pratcially anyone who buys glasses or contacts can afford laser surgery, assuming that you can get even basic credit (and if your to young for that, then your two young for laser surgery).......most places have very good financing. or you can do what i did, set up a credit line at your bank...all you have to pay the intrest each month on what you use on your credit line, and the intrest is much less on a credit line than a credit card. the surgery cost me approx $4000 with the trip i had to take to get it done (800 kms away from where i live). The monthily intrest payment on a credit line is say, something like 30 dollers a month on 4000....lets say your realy poor and untill you get a good job, you only pay the intrest, or pay an extra 30 dollers a month on it, so your out 60 dollers. now, look at what you spend in a month, and how easy it is to come up with 50-60 dollers....and no whining, cause you don't need to smoke if you do, and you dont need to blow alot of cash at the bar every weekend....either of which will quickily add up to more than 50-60 dollers...and just cutting out a few McDonalds (or other) meals a month will get you on the road... if you can afford contacts/glasses all the time, especially disposable contacts, then you will quickily realize that Laser surgery is bareily any more expensive than glasses or contacts...and look at what your getting for your money
Lemme guess You had to go to toronto eh? Lucky me I have a laser place right here in my hometown, Hamilton, Im just a little afraid that they cant do anything for my astigmatisim, and I think I do look better in the right pair of glasses. I thought about contacts too, but being the geek I am I cant be persuaded to clean my room every week, you can imagine what shape im in.............
I used contacts for a while, but I found they dried my eyes out I also had the older ones that you had to clean after use and I hated that part (always ended up with red eyes). I'd love lazer surgery or soemthing but I can't afford it (Wife 2 kids and mortgage to pay for!!!) so for now I'll just stay happy with my glasses!
Let's hope the proceeds from the Sale of LCDC are good so you can get your op I must get round to purchasing LCDC at the special offer. Meblin
Well I wear glasses and I only pay about £200 every two years or so. I believe surgery cost about £2000 but I'm not sure they can cure my stigmatisum (I have a squashed eye ) Meblin
Yeah, I have to agree on the financial comparisons of Laser Surgery.. Whilst I'm sure it's great, I just wouldn't pay anywhere near as much for Glasses/Lenses. Granted it'll be much better and I know exactly why you rave about it CoolHand, everyone who's had it says it's amazing, but then the specs don't bother me enough to shell out that much. I'd also heard it only last 10-15 years and then has to be redone?
Digitalblueshift - St.Johns actually, would you beleave its more expensive to fly there than toronto...crazy eh... Mat-d-Rat - treat your self when you reach a million copys of lcdc sold.... everyone else - it can correct astigmatism, and a bunch of other eye problems...i know, cause i had astigmatism in both eyes. also, for some people, they never stop growing, which means there eye socket is continually changing shape, and your focus....this is why they recomend that you have stable vision for a few years before getting it done...in my case, my prescription had not changed for 4 years, so i was an ideal canidate. for people who's prescription changes every few years, yes, you may have to have it done in 10 years or so...thats something you will have to consider... personally, i would have it done every year if i had to....theres no pain involved in it, and its over in 5 min.
