Im having problems with my computer restarting randomly. It only does it sometimes. It could while im in a game or just browsing around. But I have brought it down to one cause. My onboard LAN Nforce 4. I can make it restart by enabling the connection. Soon as it finds the IP it will shutdown and restart. The only way it wont restart is through safe mode. And even with the onboard lan disabled it will still restart so therefore whenever there is networking activity it restarts. My specs are: Athlon 3200+ 64 1gb of OEM ram xfx 6800 xt asus A8N SLI deluxe Windows XP SP2 Any help is appreciated
right click my computer>properties>advanced>startup and recovery>settings>uncheck automaticaly restart next time it happens tell us what it says and welcome to the forums
info @restart this is what it came up with after a restart from the networkin thing: Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area tech info: stop 0x00000050 (0xAFA800ED), 0x00000001, 0xBA0728d4, 0x00000000 HTTP.sys-ADDRESS BA072804 base at BA061000 date stamp 41672042 that is what the blue screen said upon restart.
Ever noticed how whenever someone is on nVidia chipsets we reccomend they disable or remove half the "extra special" stuff for it? Maybe someone should make a sticky for "Standard things to check"
ahh, of course nVidia firewall. Didnt think of that since i never installed it in the first place after hearing so many bad things. There probably should be a standard things to check thread
not wanting to start another thread which would be very similar; My problem: My pc restarts randomly under load. Gaming mostly, but also sometimes when i'm watching dvd's and using photoshop. I'm not using nvidia, but for some reason there is nvidia software installed on my pc.. something to do with the mobo i would expect? However it wont uninstall, anyone, know how to force stuff to uninstall? Like a cleaner?
Disable automatic restart first. Right click My Computer->Properties, then go to the Advanced tab and, under Startup and Recovery, click Settings. Uncheck the box labelled "Automatically restart" and then try to replicate your crashing problem. You should get a BSOD, the details of which would be helpful in diagnosing the problem. It sounds to me like you've got a problem with your RAM or its configuration more than anything, although it could be a PSU issue.
I'm pretty sure its the ram, but i was told it could be the ram, but not because the ram is bad.. just a conflict with somethin else.
