    Quick question,

I have a mobo that take its power (12V) from a 6 pin connection rather than the normal 24 pin.

Am I right in thinking I could make a adapter to take the 12V from a 24 pin?

Yup. It should all just go back to rails.

Ed. Or *a* rail (so single).

power wise, yes... as long as the 12v and ground wires from the 24-pin go to the right pins on the board.

What might cause headaches is... how does the board send the power on/off signal to the psu?

Dunno, magic? I might have to jump the PSU when powering pumps for water cooling.

Thinking about it a bit more, I could run the adaptor from the 8 pin mono EPS, as the 24 pin cable only has 2 12v pins.

then use a water cooling jumper to turn the PSU on....

True, I think it’s single rail, so should be fine.

I now have a go forward path.
