Ok, so i have had this case for donkeys years, used as a second system and server. I love this case, it's so easy to work on with the removable motherboard tray, and it runs so cool with 4x80cm fans and all aluminium construction. the only thing that lets it down is the 10 year old looks! it's a bit Hal isn't it? I took it to my mate who is in the middle of respraying it. I went for Ford ASBO focus orange pearl and Renault Ottoman Blue metallic (pictures to follow tomorrow) the main side and top panels being orange, and the inside, drive bay covers and mesh fan casings in blue. it looks really nice so far. The problem is, i don't know what to do next. I was thinking of a car theme, with maybe an air scoop on the top and decals in strategic places. I also need a window in the side panel which shouldn't be too difficult, except that part of it needs to be shaped to fit a massive air cooler like the Titan Fenrir or Tuniq Tower 120. as it is a very slim case. Also, with the inside being quite a dark blue, what colour lighting should i go for? blue or orange? Any helpful suggestions would be most welcome this is what it looked like before the paint job
I cried That case looks awesome black i never new it existed i thought it was just going to be a cheap plastic piece of crap
Hahaha, Bit late for that!! it's already sprayed!! please don't tell me i had a cult classic and ruined it!!
For a case as old as it is it still looks quite modern. What I would say is if you go with a car theme keep it as close to the car your using as an example as possible. If you like the scoop idea and the cooler comes through the side of the case. How about a scoop on the side panel with the cooler sitting it super charger style and then maybe a small window next to it or an L shape going round the scoop. As for the fans I would go with blue of use the orange Xigmateks, I think they would match that ford orange really well... Thats my 2 cent worth anyway..lol
If the sizes are right , that would be ideal and at that price put one on the other side, it would give the case a real wide chunky look. You could slip an LED in there just to light it up.
Righto, I'm thinking 3 air scoops, one on either side, and one on top, with a slot loading DVD in it. a 180mm fan in the top and 3 80mm fans inside. one one the rear, two in front. I also have 4 slots to play with where the opticals would have been, so i may make a backing plate an fit one there too, or maybe a car motif of some sort. i'll come to that later. The air scoop on the side is to incorporate a window too, to show off the top of the cooler in full, with LED lighting in there. hopefully it'll be a flush fitting window. i'll cut a piece out of the air scoop and use the waste piece as a template for the clear stuff. am i on the right lines here?
