How do you like my new, shiny piece of art? I've just won the Coolest Case of assembly 2005 compo with it Here's some photos: As you maybe can see, the case is made from an old 40litr "milk pot". In old times the milk was carried from a farm to the creamery in those milk pots. This one has been used for dozens of years and had some "marks of use" to remove. But i'll tell more if u are intersted..?
Yeah.. it was like this when i found it from our old cowshed: So why to build a case in cow theme? Because of my nick: NevaLehma is a finnish word and means "Swamp Cow"
dude u got a cow shed? haha thats hot, the case is crap without the cow lol, is it sitting on the psu? thats awsome, u shoulda put a real cow, or made utters (for water cooling)
What is that cow doing in there? Acting as a chipset controling all the components? I suppose the hole top with the buttons is removable in order the motherboard to be get in?
Very good job. I usually don't like the "find a strange object and put a computer in it" mods but this is very well executed. You must have done alot of work polishing it. I also really like the curved Plexi and the Hex bolts holding it in.
Fricken wicked d00d, well done on the compo win! Have you done any other mods you'd like to show us?? And welcome to Bit-Tech mate, it s over here!
Wicked case job! Congratulations on the win! :mosh: I'm guessing that the buttons on the panel actually work?
Moooo!!! I mean, really nice! Those milk pots are still beign used here. Do you have a log with all the work progress?
Thank you for the comments nookie: No, the mobo moves in and out through the hole in the back of the milkpot (the I/O panel is there also) charl3s_fatal1ty: I have made a wooden case, LazerWood last year and i will put some photos about it here soon. fretai03: Only two of the buttons in control panel work this time, coz I havent got too much time to finish the case before the compo. But I'll finish them when i have time. Skylined: I have the worklog part one ready and it can be found here: http://www.patenttinet.com/artikkelit/tonkputer_1 Sorry about the language The part 2 will be published when ready.
I love it, and congratulations on the win at Assembly '05 - I wish we had been there to cover the event. I sent you a PM too.
That superb , nice idea. I will show my girlfriend this later she'll love this case Out of interest how do you make the curved perspex did you use the milk bottle as a mold?
Sorry, the article was moved to another place by patenttinet crew.. Link is now fixed but you can find it also here: http://www.patenttinet.com/artikkelit/tonkputer_1 Gordy: As you can see in my worklog, I used the milkpot as a mold and curved the perspex with hot air blower.
